Welcome to the first Club Newsletter. This is intended to make it easier for members to be kept up to date with all aspects of the club, and to ensure that those who miss a club evening do not miss out on essential information. 24th April: Best of the Year We’d like people to bring along their best work on the following basis: All images which scored 9.5 or 10 in club competitions. Otherwise you can submit your two highest scoring images in both prints and slides. 26th April: Southern Federation Finals Day This is being held at St Mary’s Hall in Overton for the first time. The event will be set up and managed by SPF, but as the “hosts” we’d like involvement of our members to help out on the day (between 1pm and 6pm ). In particular it would be nice if we could supply some cakes, so all contributions will be welcomed. This is always a good event and is an opportunity to see the best work of the year from around the Federation. DSLR User magazine, Battle of the Clubs A reminder that we need some images of “Spring” for the next round. Could you please email these to me John Hodge by the end of Sunday 26th April so as to give time for the images to be voted on to select the three for our entry. Please use .jpg files, sized to around 800 x 600 pixels. The theme for the following month is “Landscapes”, so be prepared! Micheldever Fete: We will be mounting an exhibition at this fete again this year, on August Bank Holiday; we will be able to show about 60 pictures. Please let us know in the next week or two if you wish to show any so we can establish how many we can take from each entrant. Overton Scarecrow Festival, July 17th to 19th While we are still a bit sketchy on detail, the club intends to have some involvement in this, probably having a stall and running a photo competition. More details later, but please note the dates in your diary. Exhibitions Information on two more exhibitions has been received and is now on the notice board.
